As an effective manager for distributed generation, microgrid plays an important role in renewable energy resources development, the improving penetration of renewable energy, reliability of distribution network and optimizing the energy structure in our country. An incremental cost consensus acceleration algorithm is proposed to effectively increase the convergence speed, which only requires a sparse communication network to realize the three-level hierarchical control of distributed generators. The distributed primary control uses linear droop control strategy; the distributed secondary control makes each distributed generator participate in system frequency regulation only by means of their output frequency information; distributed generators exchange cost incremental value information by any designed communication network, then the distributed tertiary control uses the incremental cost consensus acceleration algorithm based on nonlinear droop control strategy to realize the optimal operation of power grid in a fast convergence speed. Then the influence of communication delay and communication failure on the control strategy are analyzed. Distributed generators can be operated in decentralized mode or distributed mode. When some communication failure occurs, the above two modes can convert from one to another. Simulation results indicate that the proposed distributed consensus algorithm is effect and that communication delay and communication failure only have a small impact on this control strategy. Finally, factors that influence the convergence speed are analyzed. Simulation validates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Taking incremental cost value and communication topology into account, a heuristic optimization method for communication network is proposed, simulations validates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
