The block cipher is the core element of several symmetric cryptosystem and an important technology to guarantee information confidentiality and integrity. It is easy to make standardization of industry and be realized rapidly by software and hardware. It generally be used to date encryption 、 authentication and key management in the field of computer communication and information system security. SPN block ciphers are an important part of block ciphers. 3D and ARIA are the typical SPN block ciphers. Consequently, the research on SPN block ciphers is important for theoretical value and practical significance. In this dissertation, we focuse on investigating the extended differential cryptanalysis on two SPN block ciphers – 3D and ARIA. The main works are as follows:1. Based on the structure of 3D cipher and Meet-in-the-Middle attack on 10-Round 3D Cipher, a new result of the Meet-in-the-Middle attack on 3D Cipher is given by introducing multiset. The attack requires a precomputation complexity of 2319 and a time complexity of about 2326.8.2. A new 4-round distinguishing property for the Meet-in-the-Middle attack on ARIA cipher is presented by making use of the multiset and the truncated differential characteristic. The new distinguishing property improves the complexity of the Meet-in-the-Middle attack on 7 rounds of ARIA-192 cipher effectively by reducing the 30 parameters to 16. The new attack requires a precomputation complexity of 135.32 and a time complexity of about 1232.
