Traditional methods of hand-selected lessons spend a lot of manpower and material resources, which are deeply influenced by human factors. At present, the traditional methods have been unable to meet fast-growing demand of teaching management of higher education. With the rapid development of computer and network technology, the advent of the information age, information technology-based course selection systems of teaching management in colleges and universities become needs and trends. On the one hand the elective systems can meet the needs of students, so students can pick a favorite teacher. On the other hand, they can achieve educational administration personnel issue notices of educational administration, course information, teacher information, course timetabling, the curriculum output and other work, so as to make the teaching management work easier to operate and regulate.Common courses selection systems take the students as the main body. According to the different needs of students, the courses selection systems query and output the results to make this teaching realize paperless operation. This system replaces the subject of the course selection system by teachers. Teachers browse the course and apply for the course on the WEB. The order of the teachers who choose this course is selected by the machine and manual discharge. According to the teacher’s order, the system determines the teachers’list. Among them, sorting is the most important content. Currently, the sorting process only takes into account four factors:the teacher titles, evaluation results, have taught the course or not, teachers of the course requirements. Through the machine and manual sorting, they make course scheduling activities of each semester more optimal, objective, impartial, efficient, and economical.The main content of this article is to describe the development process about the teaching elective course management information system of Jinan University based on SSH. The main work is divided into two parts:the first is to analyze the history teaching data and the evaluation of the teaching performance. We have studied three main influencing factors, such as the title, evaluation results, have taught the course or not. We get a formula containing three coefficients and then apply the formula into Java code to achieve machine scheduling. Second is to introduce the development framework named Struts2+Spring+Hibernate (SSH for short). The advantages of using SSH framework are that it can effectively reduce the difficulty of development, and shorten the development cycle. System development uses HTML and JSP language to complete interface design, SQLServer2008R2 to deploy a database, MyEclipse2014 as an integrated development environment, Java language to dynamic determination and display. In the process of development, according to the specification of Java Web development, the project is divided into four layers, namely, data persistence layer, data access layer, business logic layer and the presentation layer, so as to enhance the reusability of the system, making the system easier to maintain and have further function expansion. From the user’s perspective, this system provides teachers information management, course information management, title management of teachers, evaluation management of teaching performance, course management, page access statistics, educational administration notice and so on, which make the information more transparent, management of teaching more standardized, the course selection process more fair and equitable. Meanwhile, we also set the user permissions control to avoid illegal operation of users without permissions, and ensure high security of this system.This system has been deployed and used, which is running well and can meet the demand of teaching deans, department directors, teachers, and other users. This WEB-based course-selecting system provides integrated solutions for information management of courses and has certain practical value. Moreover, these scheme and options can be extended to the design and implementation of similar systems.
