With the rapid development of ship transportation, radar has become one of the indispensable equipment to ships’collision avoidance and navigation. Radar target detection is mainly to detect target from noise and sea clutter and other clutter interface, and extract feature information about it. At present, the digital processing technology are mainly used in video terminal for marine radar and radar equipment of traffic control system at home and abroad, and the frequency information of radar echo signal in the intermediate frequency have not been used effectively, so that the technology performance of radar system and the safety performance of the ship navigation are still subject to many constraints. In recent years, because the rapid development of fuzzy technology and its good compatibility with non-stationary environment, it has been widely used in the field of control, communication and signal processing. Therefore, this paper mainly studies the method of radar intermediate frequency signal detection based on fuzzy theory which is used to improve the performance of target detection of radar system.Firstly, the radar intermediate frequency signal is simulated in this paper, and the intermediate frequency digital signal is filtered and characteristics of the Doppler Effect are analyzed.Secondly, this paper introduces the basic theory and method of radar signal statistical detection, including optimal criterion of detection and sliding window accumulation detection method. Aiming at the existence of the Doppler Effect in non-coherent radar intermediate frequency, the method of target detection based on fuzzy in intermediate frequency signal is adopted, and the adjacent pulse echo signal is analyzed by clustering, and it is verified by simulation and its performance of detection is analyzed.Thirdly, the method of target detection based on fuzzy RBF network prediction error is studied. According to the characteristics of sea clutter chaos, and start from the theory of phase space reconstruction, the fuzzy RBF network is used to construct the chaotic dynamical system of sea clutter. The detection of transient target signal and periodic signal in the background of chaotic signal is achieved by detecting echo signal in single step, analyzed in different SNR, and the robustness of algorithm is verified.Lastly, according to intermediate frequency target detecting algorithm, the software of radar intermediate frequency signal detection system is designed. The overall design of the system is described in this paper, the software implementation of intermediate frequency target detection method based on DSP is introduced., and experiment is tested and analyzed and the effects of intermediate frequency target detection is tested.
