With the development of modern manufacturing, there is a higher quality and speed demand for shape detection. Based on the review of domestic research of the profile detection, this paper put emphasis on image processing of the cold-rolled plate profile detector. To the profile characteristic of the Cold-rolled plate’s center, head and tail, proposed using two different profile detection principle to respectively get the spatial position coordinate of the side and head, end edge for the middle and head, tail profile of cold-rolled plate. In order to accurately extract the vertical position and the edge position of the laser line image, first proposed the image processing algorithm based on the vertical projection and sub-pixel edge position extraction algorithm based on parabolic fitting. Based on the above detection principle build experimental prototype of the cold-rolled plate contour detection, to verify the accuracy, reliability and practicality of the above algorithm, also realized the plate profile online detection and real-time display, lastly detailed analyze the detection accuracy of the profile detector. The following is the detailed research contents of this paper.Chapter One. Introduce the domestic and international research status of the strip profile detection technology, and discuss the meaning and value about research the profile detector of rolled plate and the applications in plate profile detector about image processing. Finally, According to the domestic cold-rolled plate detector research status and requirements, proposed research content and implementation functions about the profile detector of cold-rolled plate based on image processing.Chapter Two. To the purposes of the profile detector of the cold-rolled plate, designed the overall architecture of the detector system. For the five subsystems of the profile detector, proposed the way of data exchange between the subsystems, make the profile detector of cold-rolled have the functions with image acquisition, control, processing, display and system monitoring.Chapter Three. Discuss the image acquisition subsystem of the profile detector of cold-rolled plate and the experimental prototype. To the image characteristics of the middle and head、 tail of the cold-rolled plate, proposed using two different profile detection principle to respectively get the spatial position coordinate of the side and head、end edge, and also proposed the ideas and method of using more highly visual calibration.Chapter Four. In order to eliminate image noise and lay the foundation for the subsequent image analysis, proposed using median filtering and improved Ostu global threshold to make image preprocessing. To the image of preprocessing, in order to accurately extract the vertical position and the edge position of the laser line image, first proposed the image processing algorithm based on the vertical projection and sub-pixel edge position extraction algorithm based on parabolic fitting, and using the experimental prototype test the performance of the image processing algorithms which have beenChapter Five. In order to make the image acquisition achieve the best state, developed human-computer interactive application of the image acquisition based on VC++, compared the image acquisition effect with the different parameters. In order to match the profile by detector to the real profile of the plate, using multi-height calibration to calibrate the visual of the experimental prototype, and get the functional relation between variables by curve fitting way, and also detailed analysis detection accuracy of the profile detector.Chapter Six. The study ideas were reviewed and comprehensively summarized, and systematically reviewed the content of the paper and the research results which have been achieved. And the prospect of this thesis was also presented for further study.
