In recent years, with the development of science, the infrared equipment and the infrared imaging technology have been applied to many fields gradually. Kinect sensor is a game device that it has variety of functions. And it has been applied in many fields because of its functional diversity and great potential development. However, the research of infrared scene enhancement based on Kinect sensor is rarely. Therefore,taking into account the high quality, inexpensive and powerful functions of Kinect sensor,the enhanced research of infrared scene based on Kinect sensor will expand the range of application of Kinect sensor greatly in the future.Due to imaging mechanism, the defects of Kinect sensor and the influence of environment, the infrared image of Kinect sensor has low contrast, narrow range of gray level and low signal noise ratio generally. In this paper, according to the characteristics of infrared image of Kinect sensor, the suitable enhancement methods are proposed for infrared scene of Kinect sensor. Then the outline of the target is improved by the methods we have putted forward. The main content of this paper is divided into the following sections:1. The existing technology of digital image processing is studied. The working principle and the infrared imaging principle of infrared speckle of Kinect sensor are introduced emphatically. Combining with technology of digital image enhancement and the characteristics of infrared image of Kienct sensor, try to find the most suitable algorithms to enhance the infrared image of Kinect sensor.2. According to the frequency domain analysis and the speckle properties of light and shade under the different distance of the infrared speckle images of Kinect sensor, afiltering enhancement method based on frequency-domain filtering of the infrared scene based on Kinect sensor is proposed to release spot noise and improve the quality of infrared scene.3. In order to make the enhancement method for infrared speckle noise has stronger adaptability, the further frequency domain of infrared speckle image is discussed further,and a filtering method based on LP decomposition is proposed. This method enhances the infrared scene further and provides a new way for future research based on Kinect sensor.4. The contour segmentation algorithm is studied. With the enhancement of infrared image, the contour of image under low light is segmented further, and the contour of infrared image is improved.
