In recent years, digital network camera became the indispensable equipment in Security System. The technology of auto-focusing is a key technology in the process of getting image from imaging system of camera. With the development of embedded application and digital image processing technology, auto-focusing has entered a new stage, then auto-focusing algorithm based on the theory of digital images processing is developing. So the research of auto-focusing algorithm has practical significance. Based on this paper about the research of auto-focusing algorithm, an auto-focusing system is designed and accomplished.This paper first introduced the auto-focusing of basic principle, classification and characteristic, and then this paper had a detailed study on some core technology of auto-focusing: definition measurement function, focus regional selection algorithm and peak searching algorithm. And the improved mountain climbing search algorithm is applied to the design of the auto-focusing system.Finally, with the Panasonic’s Uniphier S+ platform as the core, we studied on the design of hardware and software for auto-focusing system to realize auto-focusing function.After the completion of the system, The design of the auto-focusing system was tested and function analysed by us, the results of function test and focus precision test show that this system can accurately, stable complete auto-focusing and this system meet the requirements of design.
