The Design And Implementation Of The Dormitory Management System Based On Mobile Applications

The dormitory is the main place where students live and is the logistics that students study. However, how to manage the dormitory becomes a difficult problem of numerous schools. Accompanied by a surge in the number of students, the dormitory management is becoming more and more difficult. The traditional way of management can meet the requirements when the number of the student is small, but with the increase of the number of students, if schools still use the traditional management mode, it needs to put in more manpower to manage the dormitory information. On the other hand, the traditional paper management style is easy to cause the problem such as the loss of information, print management error prone, and information not in time, which cannot meet the modern requirements of users. Along with the development of information technology, especially the progress of mobile Internet, schools eagerly need to adopt the information management of students and dormitory information management to improve the efficiency of the management, to reduce the cost of management, to improve the quality of management, and to make dormitory and student information security.After careful investigation and analysis, the system mainly includes two parts: desktop service client and the mobile client. The desktop is based on JavaWeb technology development, at the same time uses struts 2+Spring+Hibernate3 design for the overall architecture of the system. The mobile client is based on the Android system. The desktop client uses SQLServer2014 the relationship database as the student and dormitory information storage, while mobile terminal uses SqLite as lightweight storage systems. The whole system adopts the MVC design pattern.All of the functional and non-functional requirements is designed and implemented by system, and different users can complete different operations. The system character mainly includes students, instructors, etc. The function of the system mainly includes the query, scoring, synchronization, login and settings, and so on. The desktop client consists of importing student information, dormitory health queries, and other functions. The query function includes dormitory information inquiry, student information inquiry. The scoring function includes the student ratings and the dormitory ratings. The synchronize function includes student information, synchronization and the dormitory information synchronization, etc. Each function point main consists of the dormitory information, the student information and scores, etc.The use of the dormitory management system based on mobile applications greatly improves the management efficiency of dormitory and student information, which solves the problem brought by the traditional management way. At the same time, it ensures the integrity and security of the information, greatly improves the management efficiency and reduces the management cost. The application of this system makes the management of the school more efficient, speeds up the informatization process of the school. The system improves the comprehensive strength of schools, and lays a good foundation to serve the students and the society.
