A shoulder-to-air combat radar mission, enemy in violation of our airspace can be found in the first time, a devastating blow to the enemy. It has features ranging and all-weather precision work, and May be far away or close, as well as to complete the task in the optical and infrared sensors can not penetrate the conditions, it can also work in the dark, mist, fog, rain and snow. However, the radar echo environment mixed with a variety of random clutter and noise, the echo of the weak signal can not be extracted from the interference echo environment, increasing the difficulty of signal analysis and processing.Sparse decomposition of signals have been a very important use in signal analysis and application such as signal composition, signal recognition and transmission.It is a new method of signal decomposition and signal can be expressed simply. Sparse decomposition of signal is a typical NP(Non-Deterministic Polynomial) problem, that the computational complexity is very huge.In most of the studies currently, matching pursuit(MP)algorithm is used to decompose signals generally, which is an iteration.MP algorithm can not reconstruct a signal exactly, but the signal can be expressed approximately Compared with other algorithms of sparse decomposition, MP algorithm has an advantage in computational complexity and approximation effect which make it get more attention.Signal sparse decomposition based on MP in signal detection, the time domain analysis, data compression, image restoration, etc have widely used, and shows a good performance.This paper first introduces the decomposition of the signal and the signal sparse decomposition, and then introduces the principle and application of the MP algorithm, in view of the military under the condition of weak signal detection in strong noise environment problem, based on the collection into the matching pursuit of signal sparse decomposition, so as to improve the ability of detecting weak signal.
