In recent years, ultrafast optics has been a very rich research and application fields. The mode-locked laser, which is the corner stone of ultrafast optics, has also been a huge research field. Therefore, we theoretically study the ultra-short pulse solution of the mode-locked fiber laser in detail.Firsly, the basic structure and principle of mode-locked fiber laser are introduced. The research progress and significance are presented in detail.Secondly, based on the coupled-mode equations of the birefringence fiber, the new theoretical model including the slow saturable absorption effect is given, and obtained the exact solution by using the ansatz method. The transmission characteristics and stability of the exact solution are studied in details by using the numerical simulation method. The results show that the exact solution can be stably transmitting when the system parameters are chosen correctly. Finally, we discussed the interactions between the adjacent pulses by using the split-step Fourier method. And the results show that the interactions are affected seriously by the slow saturable absorption. The slow saturable absorption destroys the periodical interaction characteristics between adjacent pulses. We also found that the interactions between adjacent pulses would disappear gradually when the initial pulses distance is increasing. Furthermore, the suppression method of interactions between adjacent pules is studied.
