With development and wide application of intelligent robot, there are more and more development systems oriented to robot education. Now most of them are concerned on programing and simulation and virtual assembly technology of robot haven’t been paid enough attention. Some education softwares with a bad user experience and fixed interactive method has limited the ideation innovation of students which goes against the development of robot education.Based on existing virtual robot education software, this paper applied Kinect somatosensory interaction technology into virtual robot assembly system.We hope this method can increase the degree of participation in robot assembly and enhance assembling efficiency for saving education cost.This paper describe the relevant technology of Kinect virtual assembly system and proposed the advantages of somatosensory interaction. With the analyses of function, emotion and behavior,we can conclude that with interaction method which is similar to user operation habits, by environment transfer and knowledge transfer,cognition time can be decreased efficiently, which lead to a conclusion that somatosensory interaction technology is more suitable for the development of virtual robot system.This paper proposed that with a combination application of Kinect somatosensory interaction technology and Unity 3D, we can enhance the practicality, interaction and immersion in virtual robot assembly system. Besides, we describe the design flow, Implementation Method and applied value of system.This paper create a user experience model of virtual robot assembly system in vision, function and interaction. The advantages in innovativeness, interaction and user participation has been proved by experimental contrast and investigation by questionnaire. And the increase of component structure and three-dimensional spatial cognitive ability enhance user’s assembly efficient.In a word, somatosensory interaction technology as a new interaction technology has a big application field, application value and application potential. This system with an application of somatosensory interaction technology in robot virtual assembly enhance the immersion and photorealistic of users and prove the availability and effectiveness of Kinect virtual robot assembly system.
