RF coaxial switch is mainly used in wireless communication such as satellite, radar, radio, etc. The main function is to transport and switching the RF signals. Possessing good transmission performance like low insertion loss and low VSWR, is an integral part of radio frequency wireless transmission of electronic components. With the development of modern communications technology, frequencies and powers of the transited signals are constantly improving. As the result of fever of the coaxial switch when transfer high-power RF signal, the transmission performance of the RF coaxial switch is degenerating and the entire RF transceiver system’s functionality maybe downgraded or even failure.Therefore, this paper deeply study the creep damage to the RF switch’s performance. It is meaningful for enhancing the products’ reliability and life.Firstly, this paper analysis the transmission characteristics of electromagnetic wave transport in the waveguide in theory. A three-dimensional finite element model is made to obtain the RF coaxial switch’s RF transfer performance. Then, compared the simulation and the experimental results, verify the simulation model.Secondly, analyzing the main source of heat and the mechanism of heat transferring. Furthermore, conducting the simulation of Electromagnetic-Thermal-Structure for the RF switch, Study the RF coaxial switch’s temperature distribution and thermal deformation when transport different signals of different frequencies. And use the T-type thermocouple measured the switch’s steady temperature rise at work, verify the results correct of the thermal field. Finally, analysis different value of deformation on the impact of RF coaxial switch.Then, As the RF coaxial switch frequently on and off to transport high-power radio frequency signal during its service, it will product creep damage due to self-heating. According to the beryllium bronze’s physical and chemical properties, identified the research programs to study its creep properties at high temperature and got the creep constitutive equation of beryllium materials at last. Make the foundation of analysis the creep to the performance of RF coaxial switch.Finally, based on the creep constitutive equation of beryllium bronze. Analog the creep deformation of RF coaxial switch by extracting the creep stress and strain mechanics parameters. Identify the region which will appeared the crack first during long on-off period. Analysis the changes of RF performance which caused by creep. And predict it’s fatigue life and Electrical life...
