With the development of wireless communication technology and the wider takeup of intelligent terminal equipment, the location-based services have great market demand in the fields of commercial real estate and security. At present, the mainstream of location services mainly based on the global satellite positioning system, but because the satellite signal is prone to interference in the indoor environment and the efficiency of satellite positioning is lower than many other positioning system, the location services based on GPS in the indoor environment are not very good. So for, many wireless technology and theory still be researched, among which the most prominent is the localization algorithm based on Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi network has many characteristics like low cost, high coverage rate and low energy consumption. However, in the actual project, due to different Wi-Fi signal transmission power of different devices, changeful positioning environment and other reasons, the positioning algorithm has many problems like low accuracy, unstable positioning results and poor coverage of devices.In response to the demand of server-oriented indoor positioning based on Wi-Fi technology, this paper describes the design, optimization and implementation of location fingerprint algorithm and trilateration localization algorithm. As for location fingerprint algorithm, the paper gives a way to improve the positioning accuracy and efficiency. As for trilateration localization algorithm, the paper gives a way to improve the positioning coverage of devices. At the same time, the paper describes the design and implementation of a positioning system which is based on the two algorithms. The software part of the system has six modules, and they are position algorithm module, data adapter module, configuration management module, application interface module, fingerprint acquisition module and the database. And by this system, we can position all the devices in the positioning environment in real time. As for the result, the positioning system can get satisfactory position accuracy and verifies the effectiveness of the algorithms.
