With the rapid growth of the number of vehicles and continuous expansion of the scale of urban development, the urban traffic network is becoming increasingly complicated. Because of less efficient use of traffic routes and real-time monitoring guiding resources, urban traffic could easily cause traffic jams and accidents. Improving urban traffic condition as well as the quality of travel is the priority of building Smart City. It is the core point of urban intelligent traffic planning to accurate and timely analyse the present situation of traffic among vast amounts of traffic data stream, providing services including guidance for traveler, reducing traffic congestion, reducing traffic accidents and improving traffic efficiency, as well as helping traffic monitoring management implementation.In this thesis, focus of attentions are given to issues including inconvenience caused by traffic congestion, the lack of live traffic feedback, as well as insufficient conclusion of travel analysis. Through using the Storm distributed computing framework to process real-time traffic data in streaming way and do real-time analysis of traffic data information, after that response analyzed results back to service management platform based on Java EE architecture design. System uses the MVC framework to implement the separation between business logic abstraction and views, which benefits the maintenance and upgrade of system. At the same time background services use distributed real-time computing framework to provide the real-time services and high fault-tolerance.This thesis designs and implements a real-time traffic information processing system based on Storm. Based on the introduction and analysis of the background research and application value, the system is decided to adopt real-time framework and Java EE as technical support. Then the system framework is reasonably designed according to the real life system requirements, along with detailed requirements analysis and framework designed, before completing implementation of the whole system. Finally, the real-time traffic information processing system based on Storm is tested and analyzed. According to the test results, the system runs stably, and is of great function expansion.
