As an advanced way of obtaining remote sensing data, UAV is widely used in military reconnaissance,target surveillance,battle damage assessment,ground mapping,land utilization survey and other fields.It has had the huge economic,military and social benefits,showing broad application prospects.UAV photoelectric imaging platform applies the technologies of photogrammetry,image processing and information processing to target orientation.Through the processing and analysis of electro-optical reconnaissance data,the interested targets’ 3D coordinates can be abstracted accurately.With the development of modern technology,people are putting forward higher and higher requirements to the performance index of the UAV, especially its positioning accuracy index.Because the positioning accuracy will directly influence the analysis and evaluation of target state parameters and the battlefield situation. It is an important issue to find out the main factors affecting the positioning accuracy and propose some methods of reducing positioning error in the design of high performance photoelectric imaging platform equipment.The airborne opto-electronic platform equipment and the general situation of the domestic and foreign research present situation are introduced. The coordinate conversion problem in the UAV localization is discussed. A photoelectric imaging orientation algorithm is proposed by using the coordinate conversion. The factors of affecting the target positioning precision are analysed.According to the Monte Carlo method,the larger factors of influencing the accuracy of target locating using MATLAB simulation are found out.It comes to the conclusion that the aircraft attitude angle and the turntable angle errors are the main factor of affecting the target positioning accuracy.Then the sources of error of positioning results are identified. In the situation of considering only the angle error effects on the positioning accuracy, the vector formula between positioning error and angle error is derived. It puts forward creatively to the identification schemes of each error source of system error.By the error identification,the system errors in positioning are pre-deduction processed and the fixed errors of the aircraft itself are eliminated,which improve greatly the positioning accuracy.The simulation results show that this method can significantly improve the accuracy of target locating, which provides a method for further research work.
