Design And Implementation Of Intelligent Monitoring System For The Old Based On OpenCV And ZigBee

At the present stage, the trend of aging population and empty nest in our country has become more and more serious. To care for these elderly people has become a social concern. With age the physiological function of elder people weakened and can’t play to their own lives. For example, due to bad memory they may forget to turn off the gas and lead to gas leak. They may fall down and delay treatment. Therefore, it is more and more important to appear intelligent monitoring of the elderly. The purpose of this study is the use of the continuous development of the computer technology to realize to monitor the old man’s daily life. On the one hand it can improve the quality of life of the elderly, on the other hand it can also let the children feel at ease and work well.This paper presents an intelligent monitoring system for elder people based on OpenCV and ZigBee. It is linking Internet of things technology with mobile communication technology and computer vision technology to implement a system. The system is divided into two subsystems: intelligent environment monitoring system based on ZigBee and intelligent visual monitoring system based on Open CV. In intelligent environment monitoring system the sensor nodes collect environmental data and transfer these data through the wireless to intelligent gateway. The intelligent gateway can analysis these data and alarm under abnormal conditions. Intelligent visual surveillance system is the use of OpenCV computer vision technology, the use of background subtraction to extract the moving object in video surveillance image contour method. Then the feature information of moving object can be extracted. The system can determine whether the occurrence of elderly fall through the feature information.Once the system detects the abnormal activity information transmission to the elderly family members through the wireless network communication mode. Environmental information and real-time video information at the same time the elderly family members can use the system Android client anytime anywhere access to the old man home.This system can’t increase the old man any burden, continuously, unsupervised home monitoring for the elderly. The system for the monitoring problem of the increasing Empty Nester, has a very important significance in constructing a harmonious society.
