In recent years, all kinds of intelligent systems such as intelligent transportation system, outdoor monitoring system, and even intelligent mobile phone have applied to every aspect of human life. In order to guarantee the visual system which is based on human vision work normally all day, that is to say we have to apply these systems to all kinds of weather conditions to ensure it can be suitable for all kinds of weather conditions, so as to improve the stability of the system. Now the research of image defuzzification for all kinds of weather conditions mainly concentrated in the fog, rain and snow conditions, but rarely for the dust condition. while for the large desertification area, such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and other places, where dust weather frequently occur. Dust will cause the light scattering and absorption effect,thus can lead to severe degradation of images, images obtained from sandstorms often have severe reddening phenomenon when its concentration is too high. And images under the back-light are whole slant black, not only have such problems like blur,contrast reduction, but also have serious color image deviation and distortion.Therefore, enhancing the image obtained from dust condition is an inevitable task.With the purpose of enhancing the image obtained from dust condition, the research methods proposed in this article are as follows:1.For the problem of serious decline in the quality of the video image, sharpness and contrast reduction, edge blur and etc due to the atmospheric scattering of dust particles in dust environment, a dust image enhancement method was proposed in the paper, which combining the spatial domain and transform domain. First converted the degraded image into fuzzy domain to conduct PAL fuzzy image enhancement of global dust image; then in the spatial domain, the band-limited local histogram adaptive equalization algorithm was used to enhance the local component; finally POSHE algorithm was applied to enhance the local details. The experiment results showed that the proposed method not only effectively improved the contrast and highlight details and edge information of dust image, but also enhanced the overallvisual effect of the image.2. From the perspective of image restoration, first starting from the physical properties of dust particles, we analysised the dielectric property of the dust and its influence on electromagnetic waves. Based on the analysis of the scattering model,this paper expounded the influences of the dust on image imaging and then established the image degradation model of dust environment, hence image defuzzification method on the dark channel prior was proposed. The experiment results showed that the proposed method can effectively restore image and got a better visual effect. And the effectiveness of the algorithm was verified by MATLAB simulation.
