The Rendering Of Large Scale Realistic Terrain Base On OSG

In the generation of large-scale virtual scene, the terrain rendering is the foundation of building a virtual scene. Following the rapid development of computer application technology and the urgent demand of national defense, those to make the scale of virtual battlefield bigger, the requirements of large-scale terrain are also increasing. This paper is mainly analyzes and studies the question of real-time and realistic in drawing the scene of large-scale terrain. The main work is as follows:(1) The analysis of data scheduling and rendering methods of large-scale terrain in the scene of virtual reality between domestic and overseas. The software designed and generated global large-scale paging database that including the true elevation texture information is developed by OSG.(2) The study of dynamic effects of terrain rendering, analysis the existing technology of dynamic terrain correlation. In the basic of large-scale terrain models, it designed visualization of dynamic terrain effect drawing programs which based on OSG. That achieved the goal of real-time terrain controllable, which realized in a simulation of the process of surface model and interactive process to enhance the realistic of the terrain.(3) The study of a collision detection method based on a ray detection method and a terrain detection method based on ray tracing. Different detection methods are proposed for several terrain impact and occlusion problems in practical application. The visualization of the detection of terrain occlusion that based on radar detection is realized.(4) This design of the virtual battlefield simulation platform is based on the large scale terrain. Users can through the configuration simulation script, combat situation deduction to battle plan better analysis verify the plan of campaign effectiveness. For its addition to the sky box, ocean, weather, light and other effects, all of these improve the realistic of the scene.
