Research On Group-key Management Technology Based On Orthogonal Code

This paper studied the issues about group key management. Based on the researches of group key management protocol since the concept of group communication has been put forward, inspired by orthogonal code used in Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access(SCDMA), this paper first designed a centralized group key management scheme based on orthogonal code, which has advantages like simple key update process and it can simultaneously send different messages, and disadvantages like high demand for storage capacity and communication traffic. Then it proposed a decentralized scheme and a minor extended distributed scheme which improved by centralized scheme. The former two schemes assumed that each group member can co-manage group key distribution, which to some extent offset the deficiency of a centralized scheme. The paper summarized and analyzed their performances after each scheme was presented. Moreover, it compared performance indexes with proposed schemes that help to intuitively understand the characteristics of the new scheme.Finally, the paper summed up, concluded the main ideas and came up with assumptions for further study on this issue. The innovation of this paper is to introduce orthogonal code in group key management during research, and took advantage of the orthogonal code to simplify the key update process caused by the change of members.
