With the popularization of broadband and mobile business, it takes telecom a rapid growth and also huge traffic load on backbone network, and also fast speed is required, so that telecom operators have to upgrade and expand their own transmission network. In China, three nets fusion propulsion has been in further development, it is predicted that, the service which is based on IP technology would become the network core service in the future. The market growing forces the telecom operators to upgrade their operation management system urgently. In order to reduce the cost of maintenance and meanwhile keep profits increasing, it is the primary choice that re-using the existing network management system, as these telecom equipment vendors expect to reuse or spend less cost, let the ‘old’ system to fit the new requirement. This thesis is focus on how to extend transport network management system with Web Service oriented technology, and boost efficiency of transport network management system, in the condition of rapid development of transmission equipment and the expanding demand on Ethernet service. The research work of this paper mainly as following several aspects:1. Design of WebService-oriented NBI system architecture. The data model of optical transport equipment is based on MTOSI standard, it uses SOAP protocol and xmlformat to build WebService. For ethernet services, the data model is based on MEF standard, RESTful style Web application is built.2. Analysis and design of network element data synchronization mechanism. NBI supports the real-time data processing and active synchronization operation for Network Element equipment. For large scale NE number synchronization, NBI takes concurrent mechanism to improve synchronization performance.3. Design and optimize optical power measurement operation mechanism and performance. Optical power measurement is a part of network management system core service, this thesis gives a solution of optical power measurement data collection, and an optimization process of optical power measurement on end to end circuit.4. Deployment and test of Web Service-oriented NBI system. The thesis also covers service deployment including configuration management and SSL application, an introduction of notification test tool, which is based on Java Swing with service registration and message receiving. Open source tool SOAPUI is used here to execute test.
