Photonic crystal fiber grating is a new passive photonic device, which is created by combination of PCF and FG technology. And it has become a hotspot in the direction of the research grating. Compared with the traditional fiber, photonic crystal fiber grating has many advantages in terms of multi-parameter sensing. For example, when the temperature, stress or other external parameters is changed, the effective refractive index of the optical fiber or the number of grating periods also will be changed. And then the resonance wavelength of fiber grating will be changed. So the PCF has been widely applied in the field of sensing.The paper mainly research on positive decagonal Bragg grating of cladding symmetric structure, focusing on sensing characteristics and spectral characteristics of fiber grating fiber gratings.The first chapter of paper mainly introduces the history, current development and future development trends of photonic crystal fiber. Meanwhile, the paper describes the significance of fiber grating sensing field and its basic features.The second chapter mainly introduces the calculation methods of photonic crystal fiber grating,including coupled-mode theory, the transfer matrix method, flourier transforms and finite element method. Meanwhile, the paper introduces five kinds of apodization methods; the main study of the paper is based on the transfer matrix method.The third chapter analyzes the impact of varying the duty cycle or the air layers or other parameters on the grating reflection and transmission spectrum. The simulation results show:increase the air grating layers can reduce the spectral energy leakage; it has little influence to resonant wavelength or the coupling strength of the resonance peak. In addition to the air layers, the change of other parameters will have a certain influence on the resonance wavelength and coupling strength.The fourth chapter is based on the theoretical basis of the external physical(such as temperature, stress, etc.) has the impact on the fiber grating, simulating the temperature and strain sensing of photonic crystal fiber Bragg grating of regular decagon. The simulation data shows: if the temperature increases, the resonant wavelength of the fiber Bragg grating offset towards long wavelength obvious. On contrary, it changes little when the stress increases. In addition, accordingthe research of the temperature sensitivity and stress sensitivity of fiber Bragg grating, it shows although structural of the fiber Bragg grating be changed, it has little effect on the grating sensitivity.In the fifth chapter of the paper, it summarizes the characteristic of photonic crystal fiber Bragg grating. Meanwhile, it prospects for the future development of photonic crystal grating.
