Visible light communication(VLC) is a kind of wireless optical communication technology using white LED light with high speed light signals to transmit information. It not only contains the advantages of no electromagnetic interference, without spectrum certification, but also can illumination and communication at the same time for green environmental protection, which is an ideal wireless communication technology for the next generation, and has shown potentiality for great research and application value. As for visible light communication application in indoor positioning, we have proposed a scheme using fingerprint database with multiple parameters, and give a research on simulation and experiment.First of all, the theory of visible light communication positioning algorithm and their respective characteristics have been presented, which includes triangulation, scene analysis and proximity. We also have studied the function of mobile positioning supported in the IEEE 802.15.7. A new indoor visible light communication positioning scheme using fingerprint database with multiple parameters have been produced. The new fingerprint “ ??, RSS? ” acquired by introducing the direction of the mobile terminal ? combining with the traditional fingerprint “RSS” is the innovation point of this article. The positioning accuracy as the most important factor to judge the performance of the system also have been talked.Next, we have shown a scheme of data acquisition with direction parameters by establishing the actual indoor visible light communication illumination model. The execution of simulation and experiment research on illumination distribution of various azimuth also been talked. The results show that, with the change of direction parameters in the same place, the received illumination intensity has changed greatly. The new fingerprint “??,RSS? ” proposed in the paper has been proved significant.Finally, an analytic method for the positioning results is proposed. Calculates the positioning error of twenty points in the receiving plane, with the maximum error is 0.4452 m and the average is 0.2237 m. The main causes is measuring error and the noise of system. Due to the reduction of the received light intensity in the edges and corners of the room, the positioning error increased.
