Due to the requirements of miniaturization and integration of communication systems, the coplanar waveguide and microstrip line are widely used in the design of microwave circuit as two common planar transmission lines. In recent years, the flexible material is gradually applied to microwave devices as dielectric. Because of its flexibility, the device which fabricated on the flexible substrate is conformal and flexible. Therefore, it’s meaningful for the development of microwave flexible device to study the characteristic of bending coplanar waveguide and microstrip which is fabricated on flexible substrate.According to the theory of time domain reflectometry, the characteristic of coplanar waveguide and microstrip line which fabricated on LCP are simulated and tested in this paper. Their discontinuities are also been discussed here. On this basis, the bending structure of transmission lines and their discontinuities are also been analyzed in this paper. Coplanar waveguide transmission line, coplanar waveguide short circuit, coplanar waveguide open circuit and microstrip transmission line are fabricated on LCP in this paper. These structures and their bending states are tested by ZVA 67-vector network analyzer. The simulation and test curves can draw the following conclusions. For coplanar waveguide transmission line, the bending will cause a certain reflection, the bending position can be figured out by the change of the curves, the resistance of bending structure is smaller than the straight one. When comes to its discontinuities, the influence of bending is not obviously when compared with its own structure in time domain. For microstrip and its discontinuities, the curves of bending or not is no much difference.
