In order to solve a problem in the radar system,which the remote echo signal is weak and the proximity echo signal is strong caused the uneven distribution of image.we must capture the radar signal performed STC gain control before AD collection.This research describes the history, development and current situation of marine radar signal processing.and introduced the Radar signal processing in detail. Then describe the principles of sensitivity time control (STC, Sensitivity Time Control).Then describe the Details of the Radar signal data which comes from Furuno radar made by Japan. Then according to the STC gain control theory, we use Matlab simulation algorithm. Transferred to the appropriate parameter. And to analyze simulation results, experiments confirmed that the curve we designed is continuously adjustable, The image is clear, Confirmed the feasibility of the algorithm. Finally, we use FPGA programming, built exponential with Cordic algorithm, Ultimately STC control. Because FPGA’s high speed, large-scale, high-precision and High flexibility, You can set different types of curves and curve parameters according to different needs, which can process Different types of radar clutter. The entire radar signal processing system is completed in a smaller FPGA. Which made Radar signal processing digitization, miniaturization and high speed.
