In recent years, index modulation has become one of advanced technology of broadband wireless communication. The main idea of index modulation is that the data bits are modulated by the effectiveness of antennas or subcarriers. Index modulation technique has excellent local character, it not only can overcome the inter channel interference effectively and obtain a better BER performace, but also can adjust the frequency spectrum efficiency and transmitter power with the index regulation. However, it has the problem of low transmission efficiency. Mutiplexing technique can upgrade the capacity of the wireless channel, realizing the promotion of the transmission efficiency. Therefore, this paper mainly focuses on index modulation technique with mutilexing. This paper mainly does a research on techniques of index modulation based on multiplexing.The first chapter of this dissertation introduces multiplexing techniques according to the orthogonality. It also has a detailed introduction of the research status of Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing(OFDM), spatial-division multiplexing(SDM) and interleave devision multiplexing(IDM).Chapter 2 introduces index modulation techniques and multiplexing techniques in wireless communication. And index modulation techniques are further divided into spatial index modulation and frequency modulation index, which are explained in detail. Then, it introduces a non-orthogonal multiplexing technique, a modulation technique based on interleave devision multiplexing, which is carried on simulation.In chapter 3, we have a rearch about detection algorithm of the index modulation technique, which is based on the spatial multiplexing. It mainly studies on the hard detection and soft detection under multipath channel. We proposed some kinds of sphere decoding algorithm in hard detection, and proposed a low complexity detection algorithm on soft detection. The adavantages of these proposed algorithms are proved by simulation.Chapter 4 focuses on the combination of OFDM and modulation technique,which based on IDM. And the index modulation is used for the frequency part of the system. We propose two novel schemes for the index modulation. First,we introduce a scheme which uses an independent data stream as index to modulate the frequency subcarrier of the system,and also the detection algorithm is given. Then,we proposed another scheme,each layer of the SCM system use part of their own bits as the subcarrier index bits for its modulated symbols. At last, both schemes are estimated by using simulation.Chapter 5 concludes this dissertation and discusses the possible future research directions.
