The research of adaptive radar behaviors is totally a brand new field, and at the same time, the EW(Electronic warfare) has a trend to be smarter and more intelligence than ever. When we describe a radar with its behaviors, a simple, reliable and fault-tolerance result is obtained. That is consistent with de needs of cognitive or intelligent EW, making the adaptive radar behaviors become the important content of the radar non-cooperative analysis and is a new direction for the Cognitive EW(CEW).This thesis focuses on the structure and characteristics of the adaptive radar behaviors. For the technologies of behavior analysis and identification of the adaptive radar, we just finished their initial research and conducted the corresponding simulation to verify our methods.In order to find a way to CEW, the behavior of radar is put forwarded. The first thing we do is to define the concept of adaptive radar behavior and limit its range, then followed by analyzing the common adaptive radar behaviors. Based on the characteristics of adaptive radar behavior, the paper put forward a model to describe the adaptive radar behaviors, which is a hierarchical model. This hierarchical model can describe the whole behaviors of a radar, from its signal to more abstract level(such as, the behavior of frequency, waveform, antenna beam, scan mode, etc.), to the actions or tasks the radar performed, and finally to dynamic switches of the radar actions or tasks. The model includes all of what we can obtained from a radar. For the technology of analysis and identification of radar behavior, we notices the importance of the history of radar behavior. Therefore, the Bayesian inference become a very useful tool when we analysis a radar’s current behavior for its history mode(how it behaved in the near past), which makes the field analysis of behavior possible. In addition, the use of methods of referencing and reasoning, we can take a proactive behavior recognition methods. That is, the jammer emitted a pre-specified jamming to a non-cooperative target radar according a tactics, and then infer the behavior of the target radar combined with the effect when the jamming is done. At last, for part of the adaptive radar behaviors, the thesis proposed the corresponding analysis and identification methods and very them through simulation.
