With the rapid development of wireless communication technology, modern communication technology has proposed higher demands to space optical communication technology. Optical antenna occupying the important status in the space optical communication as an indispensable part of the space optical communication. In the transmitting and receiving of optical signal, optical antenna has play an important role in collimation and focus the lights. So the transmission efficiency of optical antenna will directly determine the quality of space optical communication. But domestic still faces a great difficulty in optical antenna technology because of the limits condition, and has a large gap with advanced level in the technology of basic technology, intelligent alignment and beam couple. This has proposed a new challenge to the department and staff engaged in this research. It is necessary for optical transmission characteristics of optical antenna system in-depth discussion and research in order to further study the effect and influence of the optical antenna system in space optical communication. The present development situation and theory of optical antenna has been introduced in this paper, and the change of optical signal after through the optical antenna has been discussed. In addition, this paper has discussed the transmitting efficiency in the situations of off-axis and off-focus. And the influence of the secondary mirror for antenna energy efficiency is discussed in this paper, and two methods for improving the antenna energy transmission efficiency has been proposed. The main research contents are shown as follows:1. Introduced the laser transmission theory in space optical communication, analyzed the key technology of optical communication. Elaborated the design method of optical antenna system. Proposed that would use Cassegrain optical antenna as research object in this paper.2. Get the final mirrors combination of optical antenna by analyzing the transformation characteristics of mirrors for beam light, and discussed the system performances preliminary.3. Discussed the changing of antenna transmitting efficiency in the situations of off-axis and off-focus, and the corresponding calculation formula is deduced in this paper.4. Proposed two optimizing methods for improve the antenna efficiency of Cassegrain optical antenna, and the optimize simulation is given in this paper.
