With the development of globalization,ocean has become the most important place for resources exploitation.In recent years,all the countries exploit oil,gas and other mineral resources.Under this process,the pollution of the marine environment has gotten people’s attention.Human activities cause the biological extinction,such as oil spill,pouring industrial waste-water into the sea, over-fishing and so on.Humans must protect the marine environment well.This paper takes marine environmental protection,monitoring and early warning as the starting point.It designs the detection system which is combined with buoy platform for the mixed-scale target in the water from large to micro.This system can not only observe the large-scale marine creatures with the CCD camera,but also detect the micro algae’s density and species in 20 micron grade in the same place.This system provide a powerful and effective tool for aquatic organisms disaster warning such as the red tides and species invasion.Detection for large-scale creatures is easy to be realized,because there are rich experience in underwater observation.But there don’t have much experience for underwater micro creatures detection.Marine plankton is very important for marine environment which is the bottom creature in the food chain.They adjust the ecosystem’s structure and function.Therefore,detecting marine plankton effectively is an essential aspect for marine environment monitoring.The paper puts forward the concept of coalescing micro-scale and large-scale detection together.It contains the creatures which exist in the top to the bottom of the food chain.Firstly.it analyzes the theory of underwater optical imaging and researches underwater large-scale optical field from underwater-vision lab in OUC.Then it designs lighting system for underwater large-scale detection.At the same time,it studies the lighting system for micro detection,selects the appropriate light source and designs the lighting system.Secondly,it discusses many aspects detailedly,such as collecting images,transferring videos,buoy and its power supply system.Finally,the system get data and images through the underwater experiments.It verifies that the system is feasible,and forms a complete system for underwater detection.
