The rapid development of modern electronic communication technology, promote the BER testing technology and be bound together in a common cause of constantly updated development. BER testing technology as an important design validation testing means of communication products, the intermediate and final results can help technical personnel to make judgment on reliability in communication equipment, in the research, production stability. The present communication products already will test data bit error rate BER as its important technical indicators, in product design. While the BER testing technology as an important communication index, in the application of surface and not just limit the design verification stage using the language of communication products, which can flexibly applied in communication products later production acceptance, installation and operation and maintenance phase, it covers almost the entire life cycle of communication products.The current market in the sale of general error rate tester, with communications test interface rich, sophisticated structural design, functional diversification, and widely used in the communication in different field test. But its ingenious design and a variety of functions, require users to pay a high cost, at the same time, although its has communication test interface is rich, but in any case can not cover all types of communication interface. For example, the error for GMSK wireless digital modulation rate test requirements, BER tester general at the interface is difficult to meet the test application. Therefore, technical personnel must design a GMSK wireless digital modulation channel interface adapter to realize and general bit error rate tester adapter separately from general error rate tester, the test personnel general error testing instrument in the application will be limited.This paper is to address the problem, the communication product test technology of GMSK digital modulation channel as the main object of study, in depth analysis of GMSK digital modulation and demodulation technology based, and the current mainstream of computer communication technology, the proposed development of a based on GMSK modulation and channel error tester PCI computer communication interface. Considering the economic applicability, in order to simplify the user test environment, reduce the cost of development, the large-scale use of mainstream of electronic information technology market, and from the development means and methods, is adopted in the hardware design of DSP digital letter word processors and CPLD complex programmable logic device as the core of embedded system control module, design the dual channel GMSK modulation and demodulation channel interface, PCI bus interface of computer communication, error code counting, data synchronization and small m sequence pseudo-random test generation and other functions; and in the computer application software is designed using C++ Builder 5 integrated software development environment, design and implementation of bit error test flow control, error statistics, bit error rate computing and human computer interaction.
