Design And Implementation Of Dormitory Safety Management System Based On Face Recognition

For a long time, most domestic universities take the traditional manual approaches to manage the dormitories security. There are many shortcomings in these management approaches, which cause tremendous workload for the dormitory administrator while the accuracy of the work cannot be guaranteed. It is easy to for the dormitory administrator to recognize the average people who go into or out of the dorm is a student or not. But it is difficult for the dormitory administrator to accurately recognize those people who deliberately disguise and attempt to enter the dormitory to steal something or get something illegally. With the development of information technology, it is accurate, fast and intelligent to achieve automatic identification through facial identification technology in the dormitory safety management. This technology can effectively eliminate vulnerabilities caused by the traditional manual approaches of identification, and improve the security in dormitory. This paper comes up with a set of programs to set up a system of security management in dormitory based on facial identification technology.With the needs of information technology used in dormitory security management of universities, this paper analyzes and elaborates the background, purpose, significance and feasibility of the system design and implementation. It summarizes the relative research progress of the system at home and abroad. With the comparative analysis of Facial identification technology currently used more in the society, this paper defines the algorithm model of Facial identification applying Emgu CV Facial identification technology, which is applied in student identification controlling dormitory access. When analysing needs of the system, based on the process and the practical needs of the dormitory security management at Luoding Polytechnic, this paper analyzes the function of the system using case and diagrams, and make an analysis of the system data flow and security needs. After the need analysis of the system, the paper designs topology and frame structure for the system, which detaily defines the function module of the system,using HIPO design and data flow diagram. The system includes several models as the students information management, facial collection management, access idenfication management, registration management, statistic analysis management, and customer inforamtion management. Finally the paper defines the structure of ER diagram of the database system. The design and implementation of the system is to provide a safe, scientific, efficient and normative dormitory security management system for Luoding Polytechnic.
