In this essay, we focus on the research on the scattering characteristics of the metal-plasma composite target and the polarization matching detection algorithm for the metal-plasma composite target. By using the CST simulation software, a priori metal-plasma composite target scattering characteristic database is established under different frequencies, reentry velocities for various incident angles and polarizations.Based on the database, the helpful frequency and incident angle will be chose to design the polarization detector for a better detection performance. Around this goal, this article has carried out the following main job:First, a layered metal-plasma composite target had been established to research the scattering characteristics of the metal-plasma composite target under the different frequencies, reentry velocities for various incident angles and polarizations, by using the CST simulation software.Second, a three-step and iteration algorithm was proposed to find the optimal polarizations of random targets for the case of no restriction between receiving and transmitting antenna. New algorithm has a faster computation time and fewer computation complexities, can be applied to real-time radar system.Third, we first introduced the signal to clutter and noise ratio(SCNR) model, then proposed a transform and iteration algorithm to solve the SCNR optimization problem. The new algorithm is stable and has a faster computation time and fewer computation complexities, can be applied to real-time radar system.Last, for part of the uniform environment, we studied the MSD and ASD detectors, analyzed the detection performance of the MSD and ASD detector and simulated its false alarm features, analyzed the relationship between the detection performance of detector and the amount of secondary data, and optimize the detector performance in polarization domain.
