With the development of network and intelligent mobile terminal, location based service(LBS) has shown its broad application prospects of marketing in the commodity information transmission, position navigation, accurate advertisement and indoor scenes service. The premise and key technology to realize location based service is the human or object positioning system. In the better condition of outdoor sky surface, Satellite Navigation Positioning System, Base Station Location Positioning System has been proved to good application effect. In the indoor scenes, the multipath effects, the human body absorption, non-line of sight propagation effects all prevented most positioning methods from meeting the accuracy requirements of indoor LBS positioning(<5m), and precise positioning method cannot be large range of use due to expensive hardware implementation cost.With the great development of micro-electro-mechanical-systems(MEMS) sensor and the popularization of intelligent terminal equipment, gyroscope gravity sensor, and geomagnetic sensors have been embedded into mobile terminal equipment. These sensors are capable of detect the movement of carrier and indoor environment features, which can be used for or auxiliary positioning system.The characteristics and development trend of current positioning technology are analyzed in this thesis. For the Geomagnetic fingerprint matching algorithm, a improved method called Regional Voting Method has been proposed, and related experiments in the actual environment using smart phone platform have been done. By the results of those experiments, it is shown that the algorithm can meet the basic requirements of indoor positioning. On this basis, one kind of positioning system using the geomagnetic matching algorithm for indoor positioning scheme has been put forward by the author, and the structure and composition of that system has been certainly described. Finally, IndoorAtlas indoor positioning system based on magnetic field is introduced, which is similar to that proposed in the thesis, the process of application creating and position effect has been analyzed, and the result shows that this indoor positioning method based on magnetic field has a certain possibility to be used in indoor positioning system, which can provide an relatively ideal location results.
