Optical transmission technology which can provide high capacity, long distance communication, has been used widely. The technology is still active and is under going new innovations. It covers the range from wide area network, metro area network to local area network; transmission capacity increases greatly according to the growth of data rate of each wavelength and the number of wavelengths multiplexed; transmission span with no electric regeneration extends farther and farther, and the new world records can never has a long life; the intelligence of transmission system has been improved a lot, and the automatic switching in optical layer becomes true.In recent years, due to a substantial increase in Internet users has caused a rigid network, network virtualization technology solve this problem. The fiber-optic backbone network is the future direction of the network, so the optical network virtualization technology research is an important future research direction of the network.Optical network consists of a number of optical nodes and optical links; optical network virtualization is that virtualization of these optical nodes and light chains.In this paper, for the optical network virtualization study made the following work:(1) First of all, describes the development of optical network virtualization, proposed future optical network virtualization architecture model, and problems to be solved of the architecture, a clear goal of the architecture design;(2) Describe the physical node device used in current physical optical networks in detail, in particular, ROADM technology to achieve for a detail study;(3) Optical network node virtualization methods, and mapping method of virtual infrastructure and virtual resources;(4) Further study the problem of virtual resources allocation. Combing two node resource algorithms to realize the on-line resource matcher. Finally, proposed a algorithm about reconfigure the VNT, and design a IP optical TE server based on the algorithm to find and reset the topology.
