"Twitter" at abroad has changed into a new label-"Micro-blog" in China, as the name implies, micro one but with broad application; the micro-blog is known as small in size, broad content and profound influence. As a favorite in the new media age, the micro-blog has changed from a micro-platform into a mass media platform and extended to every aspect of our life within a few years. The population engaging in playing micro-blog is larger and larger; the communication advantage on micro-blog that female stars share is more prominent:the female has attracted the public attention on traditional media, as the female group with high social popularity, the female stars with their words and deeds on micro-blog are given close attention certainly. It is worth our attention to the influence of their show on micro-blog in special manner to public opinion and social gender.From the aspect of structure, the research is divided into six chapters, namely, Chapter 1 refers to introduction and explanation about research significance and literature review; Chapter 2 refers to introducing research design and method; Chapter 3 to Chapter 6 refer to analysis on statistical data.The research has been conducted on the Top 100 female stars’ Sina Micro-blog marked with real-name authentication "V" in Hall of Fame by way of combination of quantification and orientation. The authentication mark of "V" is not only to identify the status, but also reliability and authenticity of information; after the stars’ micro-blog is marked with "V", their words and deeds shall be regulated to avoid any illegal or immoral speeches. They interact with their fans and show themselves on micro-blog, considering this case, the research mainly aims at the following aspects, i.e. how can they realize the procedure, why are they changing their images constantly, what are the characteristics of their roles and what’s the impact of the characteristics to society, etc. Presently, it’s possible to have some researches on self-presentation theory in domestic, but such kinds of researches are mainly displayed on QQ Zone and blog, and the researches of topic concerning "micro-blog" are very few.Female stars are considered as the "Major Ones" in micro-blog, there is little gender discourse analysis on their micro-blog content temporarily; the significance of the research is to make further analysis on their discourse and attempt to explain gender distinction and gender identity in their daily discourse, during the research process of showing self-image of female stars on micro-blog, hoping to find a new breakthrough for the research on female and media.By method of combination of sampling survey, content analysis and qualitative investigation, the research analyzes the difference between onstage self-presentation and gender discourse and reflected backstage psychological activities and social gender on the basis of Goffman’s Self-presentation Theory at "Onstage and Backstage". The research found that though the economic and social status of female stars group have been improved and diversified female images are shown on micro-blog, the traditional principle of "Men for external businesses while women for internal businesses", stereotyped image of delicate, kind and virtuous housewife are still alive. The female stars’ image on micro-blog has the following several characteristics: backstage behaviors are charactered as onstage ones; diversification of female roles; no themed opinions and lack of originality.
