In today’s world, with the rapid development of science and technology, human exploration of the world, especially in the aspect of Marine exploration is becoming more and more deeply. When it comes to development of ocean, underwater robot plays an irreplaceable role. Sensor of efficiency of data acquisition system plays an important role. In order to improve the accuracy and reliability of underwater robot, we must constantly improve the data management system. MOOS system can improve the reliability of data management system, which can improve the quality of the work of underwater robot, helps people to Marine adventure.In order to meet the growing demand for ocean development, underwater robot is becoming more and more mature. As the key technology of underwater robot, software control system exist the shortcomings such as strong coupling and poor independence. The MOOS system designed by Paul Newman for underwater robot has the characteristics of modular design, solved the problems existing in the traditional software system. Because the AUV has many advantages, we take AUV as an example to study the data management system of MOOS.This paper is mainly divided into four parts. First, this paper describes the developing situation of underwater robot. Currently, the international underwater robot is mainly divided into three types, this paper describes the current situation of each type of underwater robot in detail. Second, this paper describes the principle and characteristic of MOOS system. Third, this paper mainly designs the data management system of AUV based on the MOOS system. Fourth, this paper verifies the feasibility and reliability of data management method based on MOOS system used in AUV respectively by simulation experiment and test.
