Digital image processing is born with the birth of computer science technology, at present, Image processing technology has been widely used in various fields as an unprecedented development and application, and it becomes the object which the various of disciplines and learning disciplines study. The scene of digital image processing development is thriving. This mainly work of the thesis is the electric power line detection, and it mainly used the basic knowledge of digital image processing. Electric power line detection for the safety of the helicopter when it flies lowly has profound significance. If helicopter when it is flying could be quickly told whether there is a electric power line in a short time, which will greatly reduce the machine crash accident, and that will play a significant role in keeping the security of the country’s and the people’s property. This paper mainly explores the problem of the image smooth denoising in the early. This paper is mainly focus on the electric power line detection under the complex background. The paper has two parts.This article firstly introduces the main noise model of image processing in the paper, and according to the actual need of application, we do two comparative experiments for the different kinds of methods to get rid of noise, one kind is gaussian filtering smoothing denoising method, the other is the method of wavelet filtering. After the experiment, through the comparison of the two experimental results, we can see clearly that the target image is blurry and details are not clear after gaussian filter, but after the wavelet filter, the detail of the image retention is much better than gaussian smoothing filter. It has better effect, so the wavelet filtering method is feasible.This paper also introduces some theoretical knowledge about edge detection and it shows some kinds of related model and algorithm. Finally the experiment results are proposed with the gradient vector diagram to show. Through the contrast experiment of the traditional edge detection operator and the gradient vector diagram, the testing results show that the edge witch the traditional edge detection detect is intermittent, and the edge witch the gradient operator detect is continuous. From the gradient vector graph, we can detect the electric line clearly, and the results meet the requirements of what we expected.
