Identification of Friend or Foe(IFF) is used to identify the a ttribution of target,which plays a ver y important role in warfa r e of moder n bat tle field. With the progress of technology, the complexi ty and confide ntia lit y of t he IFF signal are gradually s trengthened. Model 5 as a new type of the weste rn I FF signal has advantages of high det ec ti on probabili ty, good anti-j amm in g ab ilit y and gre at anti-int erc ept io n perfo rma nce.The multiple target simulated I FF si gnal source can produce ta rgets of various for mat and false targets in phased array radar, especially the IFF si gnal source can be use d to produce various jamming types to evaluate the anti-jamming performance of IFF Inter rogator or Transponder.The paper introduces the format of IFF signal and the method of signal generation in the first pl ace, and then t he jamming effectiveness of various jamming types i s obtained by si mulation. Finally, the baseband signal generation unit of multiple target s imulate d IFF signal source is designed a nd debugged.The system is ba sed on the FPGA + DSP ha rdwa re structure, i ncludi ng baseband and inte rmediate freque ncy. The I Q data of M1, M2, M3, MC and M5 signal generated by the pa r t of baseband turns into inte rmediate frequency s ignal through the orthogonal digital up c onverte r.Four M5 interrogation jamming types are de fined ac cording to the characteristic of M 5 i nterrogation signal. The main factors infl uencing the jamming effectiveness are ana lyzed, including the frequency of jamming signal generating, the amplitude of jamming signal and the type of j ammi ng signal. Meanwhile, the ja mming effectiveness of t hose types is obta ined by simulation under differ ent parame ters, and t he more effective jamming type is acquired by comparing the result.Finally, the sys tem is debugged, including power supply module debugging, JTAG s imulation inte r face debuggi ng, or thogonal digi tal up converter debugging and so on. In addition, the result can satisfy the dema nds of IFF signal format thr ough testing the M1,M 2, M3, MC and M5 intermedi ate frequency si gnal generated by the system.
