Data Mining Application In Mobile Communication Network Planning

Network planning, as an important basis, directly affectsthe investments of the communication operators, and finally decides the satisfaction of the consumers. China Mobile, the largest telecommunication operator in China, puts forward the requirement of joint planning for the four networks,also setsthe four networks’ joint development as their business goals. To make a well network planningis a major issue to China mobile.Data mining is one of the hot topics in the current information technology study. Data mining can find useful information in huge amounts of datas,and transfersthese informations into actions,and then these actions canmake values,including social benefit and economic benefit. Communication operator is a typical data intensive enterprises, accumulated a wealth of information. Therefore, we need to make full use of the running network’s history and current data. We can use data mining to find the potential demand in the network, and then the network planning can meet the full requirement of the network.In this study, I mainly focus on the research of data mining technology; the problem of the network of China Mobile, and four networks’ positioning analysis;the analysis of the existing mobile network planning methods and strategies; the application of ARIMA in network prediction research; four networks’ joint planning method based on data mining research; as well as the application of SWOT analysis method; study the application of the mobile network planning method based on data mining, and its important effect on the mobile network strategy.Through the research, this studygives a set of four networks’ s planning method including network traffic prediction and apply the user behavior analysis to the four network joint planning,makes more accurate positioning of traffic demand, provides the technical supportfor China Mobile’s mobile network planning, verifies thepracticability and effectiveness of applyingthe data mining technology to the mobile communication network planning.
