Paracatadioptric system consists of a parabolic mirror and the orthogonal camera is a common central catadioptric system.Camera calibration is a necessary step for obtaining the3D information from the2D images, moreover, central catadioptric cameras image has large distortion, in many applications need to be corrected. The camera calibration is the premise of image correction,Therefore, the researches of calibration methods have important value in theory and practice. The line is one of the more common geometric elements in real environment, based on the projection of the lines are compared and the camera calibration, practical and convenient. In this thesis, based on the full study of catadioptric projection matrix under the paracatadioptric cameras, this thesis proposed a camera calibration method using chessboard as template. The main research contents are as follows:1. Using Veronese mapping to obtain the catadioptric projection matrix between the chessboard and the image plane under the paracatadioptric cameras.2. Analysis of the paracatadioptric projection of three lines, using the projection matrix obtained by using Veronese mapping to solving the principal point and three groups of orthogonal direction vanishing points, then calculate the camera internal parameters.3. Analysis of the paracatadioptric projection of four lines, using the projection matrix obtained by using Veronese mapping to solving twelve groups of orthogonal direction vanishing points and select eight groups of relatively good orthogonal direction from this vanishing point, then calculate the camera internal parameters.4. This thesis makes use of the simulated data and real images is to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.5. The use of the calibration of camera parameters to correct image and to restore the perspective image.
