The P2 P streaming media technology has been widely used in the video service, including the live and the video on demand. However, there exists serious free riding behavior in fact. The so-called free-riding behavior that exists in the system is that some nodes only use the resource that provided by other nodes, but not upload the resource they have. The existences of this phenomenon have caused a serious impact on the robustness, scalability and availability of the system. That is why we should try to avoid the free-riding phenomenon of some nodes. In this thesis, we verify the advantages of the combination of the P2 P and the streaming media, meanwhile we prove the advantage on the gains of the second price auction. In order to avoid the free-riding behavior of the node in P2 P VOD system, we put forward theincentive mechanism which based on the second price auction discriminatory algorithm. Distributed dynamic auction between nodes help them to obtain the video data block which they needed. Discriminatory second price auction is an important way of the auction, where discrimination is reflected in bidders’ capital is sufficient or not, and second-price reflected in the transaction price is not the traditional maximum price, but the second highest price. Applying the discriminatory second price auction algorithm in the incentives, the node must provide sufficient incentives to maximize the contribution of their bandwidth to increase their budget for the auction; otherwise, the node will be limited to the auction when the budget is below a certain value.Simulation results we conducted which are the revenue of nodes, the utilization of bandwidth and the proportion of selfless nodes and selfish nodes, show the mechanism can effectively motivate node actively involved in sharing data blocks and making use of the node upload bandwidth.
