When the satellite works in orbit, in order to obtain ultra-high-resolution images, imagemotion is appeared in the CCD plane due to the relative motion between the camera and thescenery, and the satellite vibration, which lead to the degradation of image resolution andcontrast. For maximize final quality of satellite imagery, we have to perform a variety ofall-round tests about performance on the satellite design. Through the simulation and effectiveassessment on satellite vibration impacting on the quality of the Satellite imaging systems, wecan suggest good reference and guidance for the designer of satellite and provide appropriatesolutions on satellite imaging degradation. This dissertation focuses on Satellite imagingsimulation and restoration of degraded image. The main work is listed in the following:Firstly, we summarized the results of simulation studies and the status quo on satelliteimaging in overseas and domestic. We analyzed the principles of generation of vibration inorbit and the degradation process of imaging. We introduced the image quality evaluationmethods, which are widely adopted: Subjective, objective and MTF evaluation methods.Secondly, we established a satellite imaging simulation model of the complex imagemotion caused by the satellite vibration. For the complex consideration of image motion dueto the satellite vibration, we proposed a mathematical model which is based on differentialwith piecewise linear interpolation fitting from image motion trajectory, so as to compute thepoint spread function (PSF) of the satellite vibration blur.Thirdly, we proposed an algorithm to restore the degraded image by satellite vibration. We optimized the algorithm to effectively reduce the noise emerged in the process ofconventional multi-blur approach. We employed the optimal window algorithm to optimizethe image boundaries during image restoration in real environment.Followed, we developed a satellite imaging simulation software. The software can wellsimulate satellite imaging. The software provides a variety of appropriate solutions on satelliteimaging degradation. Finally, we used the MTF to evaluate our experimental results. We conducted severalexperiments to deblur the images and gave the subjective and objective evaluations to analyzethe recovery results.
