Recently, as the explosive development of mobile technologies and smart mobile terminations, traditional applications used in personal computers could not satisfy the growing requirements in aspect of spectrum sensing, such as viewing and managing wireless spectrum information anytime and anywhere. To this end, intelligent spectrum sensing system based on the mobile platform becomes a new and popular application mode, which provides many more plentiful and convenient functions.Nowadays, There is a variety of mobile operating system. Among them, Android operating system is a mobile operating system which is based on Linux core.Its openness, good performances and excellent experiences give strong support and attention to most of mobile device corporations and software developers.It is famous one among many operating systems in market, and plays a significant role in mobile applications development.This paper adopts the Android as the main development platform to build the intelligent spectrum sensing system. First, it investigates the intelligent spectrum sensing characteristics, the implementation mode, and the support of Android. Then, it analyzes the demand of intelligent spectrum sensing system, completes the software mode descriptions under the mobile platform and puts forward the detailed design plan of the whole system. Also, this paper focuses on the implementation of clients function modules and finishes many tests by connecting with the server. All in all, it summarizes the performance of the developed system and look to the research trend in the future. The main contributions of this paper are as follows:Firstly, relevant technologies of intelligent spectrum sensing system, including the concepts, principles, key technologies, application modes are analyzed, main different development platforms are compared and the detailed descriptions of Android platform are highlighted.Secondly, based on the characteristics of mobile platform, this paper analyzes the demand of system, confirms the design goal and main requirements of intelligent spectrum sensing system by means of the use-case model. It also completes both the functional and non-functional system descriptions.Thirdly, under object-oriented thoughts, it confirms the system software model. With the systematic design principles, it completes the the whole system designs, including the system architecture, system framework, communication mode, communication protocol.Fourthly, it completes the implementation of the server, including project hierarchy, UI design philosophy, main functional mode and database. Finally, it finishes the implementation of interaction parts between the server and client side, including server hierarchy structure, access control procedures, and main interaction mode and interaction database.Fifthly, it completes the functional test of the intelligent spectrum sensing system by means of the Android test methods.Based on these results, it analyzes the merits and demerits of the developed system, proposes the optimal design, and lists the further study of intelligent spectrum sensing system.
