Distributed microphone array is the combination of microphone array and distributedsystem. Its system features are similar with wireless sensor network and also have the abilityof speech picking. Therefore the application of distributed microphone array is more widelyand more flexible than microphone array. Its important research direction is the speakerlocalization and tracking. The speaker localization and tracking based on distributedmicrophone is a research hotspot in china and abroad recently, but the domestic research isstill in the starting stage.This paper describes the solutions of the speaker localization and tracking based ondistributed microphone array as well as microphone array. Then it also gives the theory basisof speaker localization and tracking based on distributed microphone array, which includesthe setup of distributed system, the methods of time synchronization and the algorithm oflocalization and tracking.A method of speaker localization and tracking based on distributed microphone array isintroduced based on the combination of the wireless sensor network theory and themicrophone array in this paper. Firstly, in order to realize hardware connection and overcomethe problem of the traditional topology, the method of array elements dynamic cluster isapplied. Secondly, a suitable time synchronization method is introduced on the basis ofsummary of classical methods according to the problem of traditional topology. Then, particlefilter is adopted for the distributed microphone array. Its principle is analyzed and the distanceright value is come up with to improve distributed particle filter,in which the proposedalgorithm can make full use of the estimation results of every array element effectively.Finally, Simulation experiments are done in different environmental, which show that theproposed method obtains better performance of localization and tracking without morecomputational complexity.
