The odor is an important environmental factor, the traditional detection techniques such asgas chromatographic are time-consuming and costly high, and they are not suitable to evaluateair pollution online. This paper studied the sensor array integration technologies and builtlow-cost, non-destructive, simple, fast and accurate Enose online detection system, and realizedthe multi-point, real-time, rapid detection of the target. In the end it developed the air pollutionevaluation technologis for key control objectives such as landfill and Chemical IndustrialDistrict.Based on the analysis of the research status and development trend of electronic nosetechnology in domestic and foreign, the paper designed and implemented the software andhardware of the Enose system aiming at the odor detection, established the semi-quantitativeanalysis algorithm of the stench, and conducted the field inspection in landfill.The established online detection system used Cortex-A8and MSP430as processor. Thehardware included the sensors array, signal acquiretion module, valve control drive module,communication protocol modules, and human machine interaction module. The softwareincluded the underlying control code of MSP430and interactive code of Cortex-A8based onWinCE. The control code mainly realized the A/D acquisition, valve control, serial datatransmission and other functions, while the human machine interaction program mainlyincluded the serial configuration module, database establishing module, algorithm module,software configuration module, data display module and history record module.In the algorithm development, the paper aimed at the landfill and chemical industry district,and established the pollution index and risk assessment method based on the PCA, conventionalBP, improved BP, and RBF. In the end the paper studied the practical application of the Enose atB landfill in city A. The results show that the system integrated with intelligent algorithms canachieve satisfying performance.This paper summarized the signal fusion technologies of different types of gas sensor arrayand improved the design of the system architecture, including the adjustable pneumatic sealing, the replacable sensors, and the adjustable of circuit. The system selected a small databaseSQLite to be embedded in WinCE and realized the reliability for long time run.
