The modular deployable truss antenna is taken as the designing object in this paper,and the implementation of parametric modeling with related technology is discussed. Eventually, the software for the parameter modeling of deployable antenna is developed on the basis of I-DEAS. The digital model of deployable antenna can be established quickly by using the parametric modeling software. The specific work is as follows:First of all, a whole design scheme for the parametric modeling platform is proposed, which starts from the technology of parametric modeling and introduces the framework and the basic process of parametric modeling platform. This paper discusses the second development on I-DEAS software in detail, and introduces the specific method of modeling and assembling parametrically by using I-DEAS. This study describes the CAD/CAE integrated technology based on the database, discusses the mode of data transferred between CAD and CAE, and introduces the transformation from CAD model to CAE model. In order to achieve the design and analysis module of data transmission and data exchange, a shared database of the integrated design platform based on SQL Server database system is established, which is mainly used for information storage of the deployable antenna.Secondly, the modular deployable truss antenna is taken as the designing object in this paper, the structure of truss and network of modular deployable antenna are designed, and the size parameters of these structures are calculated. The topological relationship of truss and network of the antenna is designed and the coordinates’ calculation method for the key nodes of the two structures is given. Furthermore, the geometric model of the antenna truss according to the coordinates of the key nodes is established. The deploying and unfolding scheme of the basic module of the modular deployable antenna is determined, and the kinematic analysis of the truss is performed for the single model and multiple models. The design of truss, the support rod, deployable device, locking mechanism and other parts of the structure are thus accomplished. The method of parametric design of truss and cable network of the antenna is introduced, and the parametric model of the whole product of modular deployable antenna is established. Finally, the software for the parameter modeling of deployable antenna has the ability to set up the digital model of the circular truss antenna and radial rib antenna. On the basis,we have completed the development of parametric modeling program of modular deployable antenna and the data storage. Combined with the parametric modeling process of modular deployable antenna, this paper introduces the interface and the ability of the parametric modeling module in detail. The parametric modeling module can set up the digital model of deployable antenna quickly by using the parametric modeling software, and the functions of the parametric modeling software are verified through some examples. This paper provides a primary theory and references for the design of deployable antenna.
