With the rapid development of the space technology, people have a good command of satellite control technology. Space information network brings us great convenience for our daily life. As the extension of terrestrial network, space information network has a huge room to develop. Meanwhile, space information network becomes the most important developmental direction of the information field in many countries. Unlike the terrestrial network, space information network has several features, such as long propagation delay, high bit error rate, fast changed network topology, limited node capacity, which cause that the end-to-end path cannot exist for a long time so that the routing technology in terrestrial network cannot efficiently operate in the space information network. In the first place, this thesis introduces the concept, network structure, and features of space information network. Then, we analyze the limitation of the TCP/IP protocol architecture operating in space information network. Also, we introduce the DTN protocol architecture and the CCSDS protocol architecture. After classifying the routing algorithm of space information network, we point out the shortcomings of the existing routing algorithm. Then we propose the Shortest Delay Routing Algorithm for Space Information Network, this algorithm takes full advantage of the connected sequence diagram, calculating the shortest delay end-to-end path, improving the efficiency of the algorithm. In addition, we modify the standard Bundle protocol, drawing the implementation framework of the Bundle protocol and the detailed flow chart of sub-modules. Finally, we build the platform of space information network, testing the algorithm and protocol presented in this paper. We set several scenarios, collect and analyze the testing data, and prove the availability and feasibility of the algorithm and protocol.
