With the growing popularity of smart mobile terminal, the mobile terminal energy consumption problem has been widely concerned. XMPP is a real-time communication protocol proposed by IETF. As a standard message push protocol, was used by many companies. In smart mobile terminal, a large number of mobile applications use XMPP to push messages. Multi persistent connections characteristic leads to high energy consumption. In conclusion, research on energy efficiency strategy for XMPP has significance.Basing on the in-depth study of energy efficient strategies for various XMPP and cloud offloading, this paper proposed XMPP multi persistent connections aggregation with cloud offloading, a kind of cross platform and network energy efficient strategy. Through offload the mobile terminal’s multi persistent connections to cloud for saving energy.This paper builds energy model of multi persistent connections, and proposed E2-CXHA energy efficiency strategy. Offload connections to cloud, and build clone in cloud to scheduling the heartbeat aggregation. Mobile terminal only needs to keep connection with clone. And this paper proposed MTHI, finding the maximum heartbeat interval to improve the efficiency of heartbeat aggregation. The NS-3 simulation results prove that, compared to the original XMPP protocol, the E2-CXHA method by heartbeat aggregation can achieve energy-efficiency. The experimental results also show that the QoS under the same condition, the more applications the more energy can savedThe traditional XMPP protocol can’t adapt to the environment of cloud offloading, and can’t meet the requirements of high efficiency and saving energy. Based on E2-CXHA, this paper proposed LLaF-E2CXEP. It adds building and finding methods for aggregation persistent connections. It builds PMTT to achieve multi-task messages aggregation and routing messages in cloud. It uses new message serialization method, improving the efficiency of encoding and decoding, achieving energy efficiency. The experimental results show that the LLaF-E2CXEP method has overcome the E2-CXHA method’s problems, solve the problem of the data expansion performance and energy consumption, improve energy-efficiency.The research of this paper is to cloud-based offloading XMPP protocol energy-efficiency improvement and expansion. This paper provides new methods for energy saving of mobile terminal. The research of this paper has certain scientific significance and academic value.
