After nearly sixty years of fast development, array signal processing has become an important branch in the field of signal processing. Array signal processing includes beamforming and spatial spectrum estimation. Beamforming has advantages of good resolution, high gain and so on, so it has a good application prospect. The number of modern phased array radar’s elements is becoming larger and larger. Beamforming at element level leads to defect such as complex system structure, so it needs array dimensionality reduction. This dissertation is mainly concerned with array dimensionality reduction and beamforming algorithm. The author’s major contributions are outlined as follows:1. The algorithm of subarray division beamforming based on intelligent optimization is studied. Hybrid particle swarm based on gradient is put forward. Then inhomogeneous subarray division beamforming is studied.2. The algorithm of three-dimensional subarray division beamforming is studied. The dissertation deduces three-dimensional transformation equations and researches the relationship of beam pointing in each subarray. Then the influence of subarray’s number and overlap on the result is studied through simulation. At last, three-dimensional array sum-difference beam control are studied.3. Anti-jamming adaptive beamforming system for reshaped array based on space reduction dimension multiple beams is studied. The dissertation designs the principle of the system and analyses the function of each module. Seven branches time-division beamforming algorithm, which is matched with the system, is proposed and anti-interference strategy is researched.4. The algorithm of reshaping pattern based on space reduction dimension multiple beams in anti-jamming adaptive beamforming system is studied. In order to make up the disadvantage of low communication coverage, the dissertation puts forward a kind of reshaping pattern algorithm, which can improve coverage and reduce calculations. Then another reshaping pattern algorithm is put forward and its performance is studied bysimulation.
