Potatoes are our important food crop,external defects affect the subsequent processing of potato species and its economic value, so the study and research for non-destructive testing methods potato external defects is important, the research uses computer vision technology to potato scab, dry rot, the Green Paper, mechanical damage external defects were detected. The main contents are as follows:1.Potato image acquisitionCCD cameras to be used for image acquisition get on Calibration of Zhang Zhengyou.2.Research on potato external defects of NDT methodsFor scab, dry rot defect,defect area was significantly different from the normal gray potato skin color, using the "LoG" spots method.Linear characteristics of potato against mechanical damage, improved Hough transform to detect and reduce the computational complexity and storage space occupied.Green for color characteristics of potato, were detected using the HSV color space, color threshold method.3.Software design and experimental researchIn this study, the use of Matlab R2011a software programming, processing potatoes image by captured on a CCD camera.
