In recent years, with the rapid development of optical communication technology, and as a result of small structure, portable quality, flexible, good resistance to electromagnetic interference and good resistance to radiation performance of the optical fiber. It is especially suitable for circumstances with strict limits as inflammable, explosive, restricted space and strong electromagnetic interference interferential environment, etc. Then optical fiber strain sensor rapidly rises. With the development of science and technology, electronic instrument equipment used in areas such as military, medical and scientific research tends to miniaturization, high precision, this also puts higher requirements on fiber optic strain sensor.In our group experiment, a novel sensing system of locating and monitoring ordinary disturbance signals in long distances is proposed. A feedback loop is constructed within all-fiber interferometer and single fiber is firstly employed as the sensing fiber, and by using fast Fourier transforming and wavelet transforming as the method of processing signal, the position of a random signal is successfully determined. Based on the present situations and the demands, on the basis of our experimental system, a static and a dynamic short-distance strain sensor systems have been designed through in-depth analysis and research on optical fiber strain sensor. By fulfilling the experiment, obtained satisfied resultsThis article is divided into two parts, Part I and Part II. Part I consists of Chapter One and Chapter Two, which mainly focuses on the optical fiber strain sensor principles involved and related theory analysis.Chapter Three and Chapter Four belong to Part II. In this part, the optical fiber strain sensor were studied further through the introduction of basic theory and principle of Part I. And this Part introduces the whole system setup of two short-distance strain sensor systems, one is static short-distance strain sensor system another one is dynamic, analyzes the experimental results and data and put forward the development configurations in the future.The experimental system structure in this paper is simple and easy to measure. Meanwhile it has high sensitivity and practical use value.The work of this paper aimed to provide the theoretical and experimental basis for the practical application of short distance precision strain monitoring.
